Ha! Take that evil doer!
As I walked out the door to work this morning, I looked down at an all too familiar sight, a black widow spider. The wicked little arachnid was nicely tucked into the small space between my door jam and the exterior wall. I have been avoiding this annoying neighbor for a couple of days now. Similarly, I have been avoiding the totally awesome elephant statue next to the back door the same reason. A slightly larger black widow found a nice place to hide under the elephant's trunk. So this morning's little walk was the straw that broke the spider's exoskeleton.
I walked back through the door after work, entered the kitchen, and found a can of Raid. Using Toni as backup and moral support, I attacked and killed the spider by the door by saturating her with poison. She is no more. Then I extended the reign of terror to the back yard. I drove the second spider out of her hiding spot, doused her with some Raid, and then smashed her with a stick. I may have an unhealthy fear of spiders, but they are not going to come near my house anytime soon (most probably because the main points of entry are saturated with Raid). I rule!
